When should I start my skin care regime?
Starting a skincare regime can be beneficial at any age, but the earlier you begin, the better you can protect and maintain your skin.
Here’s a general guide:
- Teenage years (12-18): This is a great time to establish the basics. Focus on:
- Gentle cleansing to remove excess oil and dirt
- Moisturizing to maintain hydration
- Sunscreen (SPF) to protect from UV damage
- In your 20s: Your skin is still youthful, but now’s the time to add:
- Incorporate toner to help balance the skin’s pH level and remove impurities left on the skin after cleansing
- Use eye creams to prevent early signs of aging around the eyes
- Adding exfoliation to your routine
- In your 30s and beyond: As your skin starts to show signs of aging:
- Focus on hydrating serums and anti-aging products
- Prioritize SPF even more to prevent pigmentation and wrinkles
Starting early helps protect against long-term damage, but it’s never too late to begin!
